XY is a popular American magazine focussed on gay youth and culture. In addition to my duties as magazine editor, I transformed xy.com from a brochureware site to a true community portal for young gay men worldwide.
In addition to magazine articles and other editorial content, I created a unique "Peeps" personals system and Places Guide, provided free of charge to help young gays [stranded in Smalltown, USA] connect with one another.
The site, like the magazine, explodes with colorful glossy images.

The XYShop is where visitors can browse and buy back issues, modify their subscription address, buy merchandise and visit XY's partner businesses.
All transactions are handled through a modified shopping cart system which also allows for payment via check/money order... many of XY's customers are too young for credit cards or closeted from their parents.
