for the 300-page "xy survival guide" special issue, we decided to scientifically and authoritatively analyze the quality of life for young gay men in cities around the world. we combined statistics [including age of consent, weather, real estate prices, hate crime legislation] with opinion polls from the website to arrive at our final results.
in addition to gathering data and computing the results, i came up with some complex layouts to display the data tables and the map graphs, all of which i created using excel, illustrator and photoshop. there were many pages of tables, charts, diagrams and maps—i've included a few samples below.
