although i've always had a passion for writing, spelling and proper grammar usage, i'd most closely link my editing skills to my computer science/programming background. logical structure and flow, componentizing and breaking-down concepts, and smooth execution from start-to-finish are important aspects of program design as well as copy editing.
i can systematically edit a 5000-word article into a 1000-word sidebar, combine 3 articles into one, or completely rework a struggling story. below are two examples of articles i edited from rough concepts into polished masterpieces.
